2010!!! WOOOHOO!!!
I personally had a crappy year last year. I'm really hoping that the Year Of The Tiger will be my year. So I decided to start the year off with a little picture celebrating Disney tigers.
In front is Tigger, Disney's most famous and well-loved tiger, hamming it up and taking all the glory for himself, because THAT'S WHAT TIGGERS DO BEST! Behind him are Tillie Tiger from an obscure cartoon from the thirties, Shere Khan from the Jungle Book (he and Scar should have tea some time), Rajah from Aladdin, Shere Khan from the Talespin series, and Tiger Lily from Peter Pan, who looks like she doesn't know what she's doing in there. I was going to put in the tiger from the Goofy cartoon The Tiger Hunt (or something like that), but her name kept popping up under "Disney tiger" searches, so as a little joke I went ahead and put her in.
Considered adding cub Shere Khan from Jungle Cubs too, but I think that's enough Khanie for one pic.
Originally intended to do this traditionally-- I inked Tigger and then realized I didn't have enough shades of orange to do a tiger pic like this. So I spent about two hours redoing it in Photoshop. It's simple, and was a nice retreat from the manga pages I'm drawing.
